(VIDEO) Vucic on the Postponement of Trump’s Tariffs: I Am Very Happy, We Have Initiated Talks
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, commented for Newsmax on the 90-day postponement of U.S. tariffs, stating that he is very pleased to see this kind of reset and the pause announced by President Trump.
"We remained calm and tranquil, and we started discussions and conversations with our friends from the United States in order to either revoke those tariffs because we didn't want to counter it, and we just wanted to resolve it in a very friendly way. This is a very good step forward, I think that it is a very big relief for everybody in the entire world, dare I say, particularly here in Europe — not only for us, but for the European Union countries as well. I believe that we'll be able to find a common denominator for all of us and to do something for the sake and for the benefit for our two sides, but for all the other sides as well", said President Vucic in response to American journalist Bianca de la Garza.

When asked whether there will be another postponement of sanctions against the company NIS, Vucic said he was not certain and did not believe so, but that he would do everything in his power to make it happen.
"It’s simply not easy or straightforward — we are speaking with our American and Russian friends, we are talking to everyone. We’re doing everything we can to ensure there are no negative consequences, because for us the most important thing is that the people in Serbia can feel secure, that they have full energy security — meaning they have access to enough oil and oil derivatives at the gas stations, and that they don’t feel the impact in prices", Vucic stated.
