Ministry of Interior Affairs: 79 People Detained, All Blockades Removed Across Serbia
During the previous night, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) conducted identity checks on a total of 1,297 individuals, while 79 people were taken to police stations.
All blockades throughout Serbia and Belgrade have been removed, and all roads are now clear and passable, the Ministry of the Interior announced.
According to the police statement, 72 individuals were detained for committing misdemeanors, while 7 were held on suspicion of violating provisions of the Criminal Code and committing criminal offenses.
Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted identity checks on a total of 976 individuals during the previous night, while 72 people were brought to police stations, the ministry reported.
Colonel Zeljko Brkic, Assistant Director of the Police, stated that most of the roadblocks across Serbia have been removed and that traffic is functioning normally.
Isolated incidents were recorded in some locations, during which the police acted in accordance with the law. These incidents occurred in Belgrade, Nis, Novi Pazar, and Novi Sad, where several individuals were detained for disturbing public order and committing criminal acts, the statement added.
Participants in the blockades injured four police officers and damaged one official vehicle of the Ministry of the Interior, the MUP reported.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs once again urges citizens to refrain from any illegal activities and not to block traffic—especially not in ways that could endanger their own safety or the safety of other road users.
