Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina Revokes Milorad Dodik's Mandate as President of Republika Srpska
At a session of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC BiH), Milorad Dodik's mandate as President of Republika Srpska was revoked.
"At today's session, the CEC adopted a decision to terminate the mandate of Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, elected in the 2022 elections from the list of the political entity Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) Milorad Dodik," the CEC BiH stated in a press release following the session.
The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued a final ruling sentencing Milorad Dodik to one year in prison and a six-year ban from performing the duties of President of the Republic of Srpska, due to his failure to implement decisions of the High Representative.
If the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina issue a warrant for the arrest of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik while he is on Serbian territory, he will not be arrested, stated Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic following a meeting of the National Security Council.
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax Balkans, former governor of the U.S. state of Illinois Rod Blagojevich and President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik discussed, among other topics, the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
An appeal against the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH is allowed.
"Surrender and giving up do not exist. Surrender is not an option," Dodik wrote on his X account.
In its statement, the CEC BiH emphasized that, upon finalization of the decision, it will announce and organize early elections, and the public will be duly informed.
Dodik Announces Referendum on His Office

He said that during the meeting, it was concluded that the position of Republika Srpska is seriously threatened by the actions of High Representative Christian Schmidt.
"The people gave me the mandate, which is why I will listen to them in the referendum that will be held in the coming period, and which will decide on my future," said Dodik.
A special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska is scheduled for Friday, during which members of parliament are expected to consider calling the referendum.
